A link exchange is the exchange of external web links from one website or blog to another website or blog. It is the intentional adding of links by webmasters for mutual benefit and hopefully for the benefit of users. While search engines often frown on link building through link exchanges, they are beneficial for site visitors if they are about the same of related topics. If one site is about pet grooming and another site is about pet toys, the visitors could find a link useful. Link exchanges between unrelated sites can confuse search engines since they will often compare the topics of both sites for relevance. |
